Vice President of Operations Border Grill restaurants A 30-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Nile Park joined the Border Grill restaurant group in 2017 as its first vice president of operations. Nile led Border Grill restaurants’ complete re-launch effort, which included an introduction into fast casual & quick service restaurants, several sports arena prototypes, and a foray into government funded contract meals. He previously served as Group Chief Operating Officer for JAVA House Africa in Nairobi, Kenya with restaurants in Uganda & Tanzania. He spent more than 8 years with the international restaurant group, Global Dining Inc. of California, one of Japan’s most recognizable restaurant brands. There, he served as Chief Operating Officer. Nile holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was recognized in Wine Spectator for running two Grand award-winning wine lists and is a Court of Master Sommelier certified sommelier. He volunteers for many charities including Share Our Strength’s Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, Alex’s Lemonade, One Drop, Simply Divine – LGBTQ Center and The Scleroderma Research Foundation’s annual Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine. Nile has appeared as a speaker with the LA Chef Conference in 2019 and served on the judging board for Kenya’s National Barista Championship. Nile also served for three years as a trustee on the board of the Ocean Charter School. |
